Brand, New Business & Multicultural Strategist

ABOUT ME

I am Miguel Lopez Ixta - New Biz dude, honorary strategist and fan of all things moving culture.

Most importantly I am an advocate and leader in my community with the mission to shed more light on the untold stories of Latinx/Hispanic creatives.

My family comes from Buenos Aires, Michoacan, Mexico. A town of roughly 1000 people. Like many other families, my parents moved to the U.S. with hopes that their children would have a better future. Since then to now, my life has been a rollercoaster. Deportation, family separation, back to Mexico, cartel wars, refugees, mom fighting breast cancer. Despite all the rocky experiences there was also some high’s, My siblings and I all graduated Valedictorian of our respective HS class, First-Gen college graduate and I’ve been lucky and humble enough to have the opportunity to do some awesome work.

I began my career at Wieden and Kennedy, where I worked in the media department and soon after shifted into the new business team. During my time at Wieden I touched various brands, including, Turbo Tax, Old Spice, Secret, Chiquita Banana, Visa amongst others. In 2021 I made a move to 72andSunny, where I currently play a key role in the business development team. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my 2 year old baby, playing soccer or fishing. and if I ain’t enjoying some self time, i’m probably busy freelancing with Latinx creative agencies or editing episodes of my podcast, "La Receta".
